I get thet from time to time also. I don't know why, but I'm sure it's not dangerous. Also I don't think it's 'cause of your dad because nobody smomkes in my house hold and I still get it.

You don't give your age. When I was young I used to get quite a lot of sharp pains which were little muscles in the chest going into spasm. Mine were characteristically more painful when I breathed in deeply.

The more serious possibilities would most likely have a definite pattern of coming on only with increased activity or stress or cold.

Well, you should definately talk to your doctor. However, start by recognizing what it might be related to. Is it directly after exercise? Is it related to eating or drinking a certain kind of food? Sleeping a certain way? That will also help your doctor make a diagnosis.

First, you should consult a GP. It could be anything from indigestion to a panic attack, or at worst an undiagnosed heart condition. See a doctor - thats what they are there for innit..?

i have noticed this too on myself for many years now. Doctors say they can't find anything wrong. I have noticed that it happens after a period of CR4PPY dietand no exercise, i.e. fried food and junk like that.

So i can only say, 'stay off teh junk food'

Doctor would be the one to answer this. But I would stay off junk food and lower your salt intake. Excercise more.
