It is the true carbon foot print . CO2 is produced and plants and photosynthesis . The plant holds on to the C and gives back the O2 . That is the first step in the earth recycle of first the air recycle. Now go back to the C which is in the plants leaves and as winter comes the leaves fall off and wash down the rivers to the delta where it deteriorates into gas ,oil ,and after a long time to coal. All the energy on earth comes from the sun and this is the storage for most of it.
