I think you should come and take a look for yourself and make up your own mind. If I were looking for a place to live in CA, I would choose the Bay Area, or anywhere in Northern CA.

Rents around around UCLA are pretty expensive. Check craigslist for rental share options, especially around July and August.

My niece goes to UCLA. She now lives in Sherman Oaks. It's a (relatively for LA) easy commute down the 405.

I'll have to agree with "Paris Hilton". After you have lived here for four years you should learned a great deal about what life is like here. Who knows? After you graduate in four years you may even decide you would rather live some where else.

Move to Long Beach, its really beautiful, and really close to the beach. I lived there for more than 15 years until last July i moved to Las Vegas and I miss it alot i want to move back. People are really friendly over there trust me youll love it . I lived in Downtown in a Street called "Broadway" about 5 minutes away from the beach.

Try San Diego, i think it's a great town for young people. I stayed down here after college as did a lot of my friends. Pacific Beach is an awesome beach community for young people, everyone here is 20-30 and the town has a great vibe and party atmosphere to it. Great nightlife, beach scene, and it's easy to walk or bike around the community. Plus there is so much to do in San Diego and downtown in the Gaslamp Quarter has great nightlife. And you are still close to LA for when you want to head up there and catch a basketball or football game.
