Actually this is to inform about the negative feelings towards the confederate battle flag. Please let me know if I made this matter clear for you.

First off, it's all centered around the thought that the War for Southern Independence was fought to preserve slavery in the southern states. However, use that name in place of "The" Civil War and you can also explain a lot. It was fought by the south because of their want to be independent and each state control their own government.

The Confederate battle flag IS that and nothing more in reality. It has been used by the KKK and therefore was recognized and adopted by the black community as a symbol of hate and racism. What many don't know is that the flag is actually a Christian symbol. The "X" is St. Andrews cross adopted from the English flag.

Another thought is that the flag represents slavery. If any flag should be discriminated against because of slavery is our own Stars and Stripes because that flag flew over every ship that brought every slave to America before the Civil War.

As we all know, we will never change the minds of the community that is historically ignorant. However, remember that you can alwayse win an argument will cold, hard FACTS. If you yourself are in touch with your history and know the truth, then noone can tell you that you are wrong.

Know your history and heritage. Help to truthfully educate youth and our glorious past will never be forgotten.

I hope I gave some a better understanding of this matter.

Thank you all

Dear Cpl. Frost:
I quite agree with you, that flag to me is a symbol of Nationalism. To me it stands for what I believe is the true heart of being an American.
Unfortunately the political correctness that disguises the truth has turned half this great nation into prostituting themselves to liberalism. We all know that it had nothing to do with the African countries and their tribal chiefs who sold their own people into slavery. Yes they went on raids and stockaded their prisoners while waiting for ships to arrive. They saw their own people as commodities. Let's burn every West African nations flag, starting with Nigeria and Ghana.

Thank you! I hope Americans truly understand the emotion that African-Americans associate with that flag.
