No, they should not conflict. I feel the more protection the better. First and foremost for an extra layer of protection against spyware, I would get a free program called "spyware blaster" (download.com). Unlike most other spyware programs, this one prevents spyware from entering your computer in the first place (proactive as opposed to reactive). If you do get spyware, I would use "Spybot Search and Destroy" (free; download.com) and Super Antispyware" (free; download.com)
If you want a clean computer that will last a long time, I suggest you get all of above. It never hurts to have extra protection! Just my 2 cents...

No problem, a wise idea as they tend to work slightly differently & find different problems.
It's anti-virus that can cause problems if more than one is running at once, not anti-spyware/adware software.
Hope that helps.

Should not be any serious conflicts, many mentions of Ad-Aware and Spybot, but I have found that since using [free] SpywareBlaster they no longer find anything, and another good [free] program is Spyware Terminator it found a couple of things that Ad-Aware and Spybot had been overlooking for years.

Dont use too many as you might just end up slowing down your computer, but a few should be fine and yes, they'll tell you if they're going to conflict usually =]

You can usually use more than one anti-spyware program but only one anti-virus.

It is wise. One will miss what the other finds. Spybot and Ad-Aware are to good, free ones.
