It's normal to have mood swings and get upset easily. However, it's not normal to get suicidal. Your hormones are giving you a bad time and you need to ask your mother to make an appointment with a gynecologist and get a good check up and advice on what will help reduce your PMS to a tolerable level. There's help for you so be sure you get it.

Hi there, you need to get a good multivitamin supplement to help you nervous system cope with the extra stress of pms......... Nutrients that will combat depression, anxiety and stress are:-

Vitamin B1
Vitamin B6
Pantothenic acid - B5
Vitamin C
VitaminB12
Choline
Vitamin E
Folic acid
Zinc
Magnesium
Manganese
Niacin
Calcium
Tyrosine
Tryptophan
Phenylalanine

Go to the chemist and ask the pharmacist for a good quality multivitamin supplement with as many of the above in it as you can get. Its not normal pms, your body is screaming out for more vitamins and minerals. Also if you are on the pill it will deplete the body of B6, B12, folic acid and Vitamin C. So, if you are on the pill and depressed, it is not surprising. Your need for B6, necessary for normal tryptophan metabolism, is fifty to a hundred times a non-pill user's requirement. Alcohol is a nerve depressant, so if you take tranquilizers and a drink, the combination of the two can cause a severe depression - maybe death. Go try the vitamin supplements, drink more milk during pms cos the calcium alleviates tension, irritability and promotes relaxation. Also eat magnesium rich foods - wholegrain breads and cereals, figs, almonds, nuts, seeds, dark green vegies and bananas................. Gogogo girl, got some bananas and milk and icecream in the fridge ??? Make a banana milk shake....... lunch time there ?? Wot eva, please take care........

PEACE

It is probably just 'normal' PMS, but you also may have mild 'bipolar disorder' ... one that 'comes out' only when you are in menses. Try not eating anything 'salty' while you are in PMS mode, and try to keep your 'sweets' down to as 'little as possible' but do eat some 'really dark chocolate' (60%-76% cacao) every day ... up to two ounces of it a day. If it's 'just PMS' and you have it 'really bad' you should feel 'better' and if it's PMS plus bipolar disorder you'll see 'no change' and should talk to your parents about getting a 'mental health evaluation.' GOOD LUCK.

No hun, this is not normal. I suggest going to a doctor and seeing if meds would be the best thing for you. If not, you can go to your local herbal health store, and try to find some antidepressive herbs you can take before you start pms each month. I feel for you hun. Just know that this treatable.

That sounds like something more than normal. I think you need to see your doctor. There are medications that he/she can give you that will help.

Be sure to tell your Mom AND your doctor about the suicidal part. That is a danger signal for sure.

It sounds like PMS all right- and being mixed up with those hormones as you're growing up can't help either. Get your mom to take you to a doc who can help, Sweetie.

Good luck.
