Neither egg is better. They are the exact same. Scientisits have figured out that the eggs are different colors, simply by a pigment in eggs. The same chicken does not always lay brown eggs, in other words. It makes no difference to the taste of the egg. The brown is just different in color, so it makes for a pretty presentation, but that is all.

White eggs and brown eggs come from different breeds of chickens. White egg layers are usually hens with white earlobes, such as the Leghorn, and brown egg layers are usually hens with red earlobes, such as the Rhode Island Red, the New Hampshire Red and the Plymouth Rock.

Brown eggs tend to be more expensive because the hens that lay them are larger birds; therefore, they eat more food--with the cost being passed on to you. There is no nutritional difference between brown and white eggs, although some people claim that brown eggs taste better.

Not the slightest difference in the taste or nutritional benefit between white & brown shell of an egg, after all like beauty the difference is superficial, here it could be called shell deep.I do agree there is nothing to beat a freshly laid free range egg ,I know for sure,I have my own free range poultry .

Doesnt make a difference for cooking. Also, a little thing that I heard, so not sure how true it is, but Free Range chickens only have to be out of their cage for 5 minutes a day to be considered free range. Most people think that Free Range chickens are out all the time, and therefore happier chickens, but 5 minutes a day cant bring those results.

If they are both hen's eggs, then they are the same.

If they are chocolate eggs, then I think the brown ones are best - Cadbury's Buttons egg to be precise, as they melt best when you dip them in a cup of tea! mmmm - yummy and messy!

They are both the same--brown eggs come from brown chickens and white eggs come from white chickens.

I like the brown ones they seem to be larger, and the yellows seems darker and around here in Montgomery, they seem fresher. However, I really think that that just may be my preception it's more important to pay attention to how the chickens are raised and feed.
