I have discovered Silk by Farouk, an expensive oily substance used for humans from a hair salon. It's wonderful! Keeps his coat tangle free and eases daily brushing too. However, I'm not made of money, so I'd like suggestions ... as long as they don't smell like cooking oil ;-) Thanks.

Use Pinks. It's made for human hair and you can find it all over the place.

Daily grooming & coat conditioner. Supplements such as a raw egg once or twice a week is fine. Too much raw egg white can interfere with nutrient absorbtion though. You can also add a teaspoon of olive oil or fish oil capsules to the food. Make sure you are feeding a well balanced high quality food also.

tangle free by daily brushing. one scrambled egg a day can help keep coat healthy and glossy.

i have heard of people feeding dogs bacon fat/grease to acheive a shiny coat but that sounds unhealthy to me,
