Yes.

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

For a complete description of what Catholics believe, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/index.htm

With love in Christ.

I was raised Catholic attended a Catholic school and all, but I have also done the forbidden and attended other churches...shshshsh. I believe in honoring the bible...spiritually. This may be against Catholisim, but I believe that we are shooting for a spiritual connection...The Catholic church does not preach in tounges...which is mentioned in the bible. They do preach confession which many other religions do not. I also cannot see God punishing small children and putting them into limbo for not being baptized, when Jesus himself was not baptized until he was in his twenties. Yet one baptisim to cleanse you of sins...and if you are an infant you have no choice in the matter. Another problem I have with the Catholic religion is it is about what you do...we are all sinners...we have all done wrong and we are supposed to confess...be sorry and promise to try not to ever do it again...then be forgiven...but in the bible it states all you have to do it believe...John 3:16. God wants you to be his child... and he wants you to follow the bible (kinda difficult when there are different versions of the bible...I know)The bible states the church is for fellowship, not to forget the sabbath and that there is only one true church, but never states which one it is...(I want the name)...My experience in Catholic churches is that it is more ritual than spiritual, what you wear, and more about how much money you have in your pocket to go to their schools, sit in certain pues, or give. Don't get me wrong I think it is a great starting point for learning, but when it comes to believing in what Catholics believe... there is more out there to learn when it comes to God in general. I serve God my way. He is my father, provider, comforter...among many other things, and I speak to him as a child (we are supposed to put childish things away...I know)...sometimes there are things I don't want to do...and he wacks me a good one when I do not do as I should. I learn my lesson and go. Sometimes he tells me no and sometimes he tells me yes. He lets me go out and make my mistakes to grow on....perhaps I am one of those who just don't get it. I do know that all the churches meet to discuss things...they must all be related in some way. But I am telling you I do not believe you will be judged by your church and their rituals, but by your heart and soul. God will know if your intentions were good to him and those he surrounded you with.

Most of the catholic doctrines are erroneous, i am sorry to say that. For example, worshiping idols, that is prohibited even in the catholic Bible.

Deuteronomy 5:7 Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
Deuteronomy 5:8 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, even any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Deuteronomy 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate Me,

I am an ex-catholic and now a member of the religion written in the Bible.

1Timothy 3:15 but if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how men ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Yes, I also want to say that the Church does not believe in Limbo. If a baby is not baptized and dies I am sure God will have mercy on him or her. The Church teaches that it does not know who is in hell. It could be no one. Homosexual acts are considered wrong as is fornication. Those that copulate outside of marriage sin. The Church is full of sinners because we are the ones who need a spiritual doctor in Jesus Christ. We are pilgrims on a journey, trying to return to our Father in heaven.

Yes. And to those of you who were taught WRONG, catholics begin every prayer in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We pray for the saints to intercede for us, just like anyone else asking for a friend to pray for them! We honor the Blessed Mother as Jesus instructed John to do at the cross, "Behold, your mother" but only profess the Blessed Trinity as the one and true God... . God Bless and hope this helps those who were confused or told wrong!

Not everything. I don't believe gays/lebians are going to hell. I agree with abortion. So no I don't. I also think telling anyone there going to hell will bring bad luck to the person who said or thought such a thing.
