There is much in the New Testament stating that this is hypocrisy,
One should never deliberately sin with the intention of saying sorry later....It makes the 'sorry' rather soiled.doesn't it?

Yes: When I was beginning in Christianity, I would do a sin and say to myself "I will repent right after I'm finishing"

I have done plenty of things had I stopped and thought about, I wouldn have realized they were wrong. But, I try not to do anything with the thought that "it's ok, I'll just tell God I'm sorry". I think God knows the sincerity of our heart, therefore He knows whether or not we truly are seeking forgiveness.

It's one of the old jokes about religion in that you could argue that it's better to steal than not to because you can just have what you want and then repent later.
I didn't say I agreed.

No I haven't quite done that but sometimes I've been unable to stop myself doing something that is not a sin, but is not terribly helpful. Prayer helps.

I don't know about christians, but atheists do something better than repenting:
We apologise to the person we wronged.

We do things wrong when we don't know we do things wrong. Our good works are as filthy rags to the Lord. (Because He is holy.) In other words, we're all sinners. Even born-again Christians. (Forgiven.)

People tend to always rationalize their behavior by telling themself that Jesus would UNDERSTAND. The thing is Jesus only does the will of God. If it is not the will of God, he understands it, but, he always understands it as sin.
