sit by, maybe, but I think not. God gives "the peace that passeth
understanding" -- key word understanding. God moves in "mysterious ways
his wonders to perform",we should be so pretentious to even attempt
understanding ??---- I think not --- maybe rather than questioning
how God can stand by, we should be questioning and acting on
how we can stand by while entire groups/nations/races can butcher other groups/nations/races
of people.

This question comes up a lot in this forum. The answer is simple, God gave His creations free will. If this life is a pre-cursor to a far greater life in heaven, then it makes sense that God would bestow free will upon us. Because of the sinful nature of man, violence and tragedy are a part of this life. People who follow God and allow Him to guide them, start to know the nature of God, and are less likely to be involved in violent acts. Sadly, even some Christians like to purport to follow God but follow their own selfish instincts instead.

My God is the God of the Holy Bible. Our sins separate us from God. So our sins need to be atoned for, for God to hear our prayers.

People can use a Koran verse or verses to kill in the name of Allah, but there is no verse in the whole of the Holy Bible that would lead me to believe I need to kill or can kill someone in the Name of Jesus Christ the Lord. For Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, so we could have life more abundantly.

But, I believe there is righteous war, if it kills the enemy that is trying to kill people in our country, or innocent people in their own country. This was the purpose of the crusades. Christian were overtaken first by Muslims. The crusaders didn't know who the enemy was. And, I don't think the crusaders were right. But I believe there were true Christians among them.

He doesn't just sit idly by watching...he uses people to step in and stop it. He might use a neighbor to "hide" someone. He will use any willing vessel (human.) He does more than you give him credit for...you really have no idea.
