I'm checking the yellow pages in order to find a dentist and am wondering what the different letters signify. ie, DDS is Doctor of Dental Surgery. Found PLLC after Allied Dentists. What does it mean?

Professional Limited Liability Corporation. It is so that you can sue the practice instead of the dentist himself or herself. Lawyers have the ability to self incorporate too, which is why you see PC (professional corporation) after some of their office names.
