Exceptions to the rule of course, but those on the right tend to rely on the big G (God), and those on the left tend to rely on the little G (government).
There are just as many crackpots on both sides, but it seems as if those on the left who are openly against religion, are the ones who get most of the attention.
Furthermore, those on the mainstream right typically separate themselves from the crackpots, whereas those on the left seem not to. In fact they seem to get more media attention.
I would go even a bit further. I would say that liberalism for many, IS A RELIGION, which is why many on the left don't just think that conservatives are wrong, but evil or morally bankrupt.
Like the man says "We live in interesting times".

Quite untrue. Those who are religious seem to be 'high' on politics. Just look at our current President - proof positive that people who insist they are acting in the name of God should not be in politics. You can say the same for Hussein and his ilk too.

I believe you may be right!
It is the goal of government to supersede faith--the historical records of many countries show how leaders begin well and then go past being good leadership to wanting worship.
If my faith is in the government not only is it misplaced but is in constant danger of being overthrown by some other government. So we must bind together and fight in government to get and maintain control. Eventually the governments will win out and God will destroy the earth for good.
Can't wait! Can you?

Yes, both are a matter of belief - and both tell their constituents nothing but lies as well, in an effort to gain financial wealth.

Looking at the here and now.
Later doesn't enter their minds.
Now is the tangible.
Later is intangible.
If I can see it, measure it, smell it, touch it, hear it, it is real. This is how they think.
Have you noticed all the things I mentioned are of the senses.
They are the sensual ones. Sensual doesn't necessarily mean sex.
