Mild discomfort only. It's not painful. Get some ora-gel if you're particularly sensitive.

My husband had this done twice and he wasn't comfortable at all. Take Tylenol before the procedure (about a half an hour before) and keep taking 1000 mg every four hours for 24 hours. You won't fee a thing.

well, scaling occurs below the gums. there will be blood, and some pain. but its not that bad. there are worse procedures, you'll be fine
