I won't have regrets and I really don't think age should be a factor with things like this because the reality is you could die at 30 (or any age really) and very few people are wrinkled then.
Like I've said before, I don't want to spend my golden years thinking about the what if's, I'd rather have done them and be able to look back and say "damn, that was an awesome time". Plus, my tattoos are meaningful, so to me they will always have importance.
Live your life, get the most out of it while you can.

I do not regrete getting any of my tats. My first was about 5 years and one child ago lol. I have one on my back done nearly 4 years ago and one on my ankle of my son's name and B-day done last summer. When I am 80, if I make it that long, I really don't give a Sh*t what is on my body it will be all wrinkled. i am actually kind interested to see what they will look like all wrinkled up! LOL But seriously I make sure I get mine in spots that I can cover if i so wish and I don't get any that I will regret. When I am old it won't matter! And hey I will never forget my son's birthday!

I just got my second tat on Sunday! I allowed myself to get it because I have kicked an 8 year smoking habit. So I got a heart on the small of my back. Every time I see this heart I will think of the accomplishment I made, especially considering that most of the people around me didn't think I could do it.
I will never live my life with regret. If I make a decision I will stand by it until death.

Me, no. My ink will age with me, and probably better than I will even if I'm constant on taking care of myself. Only time will tell.
I do know a number of tattooed 'elders', and those who take care of themselves & stay out of the sun are doing fine with their art.
Speaking from halfway to that magic number, I think these are mostly people who are afraid of aging. It may not be fun, I suppose, but rather scarier for the vain & those concerned over what others think. It's not bothering me yet. I don't really care what the posers think of me. I never did before, no point to starting now.
P.S. Actually, Rider, speaking from the land of the sun worshipers, they look like prunes by 40. They just corner the market on wrinkles after that. My 53 year old tans-every-week (still!) neighbor has as many wrinkles as my 95 year old very mobile & competent other neighbor.

I'm young, but I have a ring of thorns and a rose on my ankle. I absolutely love it. I thought of it and wanted it months before I got it. I do not regret it at all. I plan to get a few more that I can cover up and still look proper in a dress with. Once I get a career (most likely a medical examiner) and have children I will probably get a few more perhaps with their names. As soon as I do start getting wrinkly and care less about my apperance, I wouldn't mind having 20 tattoos and peircings. Once I reach a certain age, I would rather look like a cool granny than a timid crazy cat lady.

I totally love my tattoo! However, I do work as a legal assistant, so it wouldn't be appropriate for me to have it on display for 7.5 hours every day, even though we are pretty casual in our work attire. And I don't display it during church, only because it is distracting to me when I am sitting behind someone with lots of tats (I start to stare at their tats instead of pay attention to the service, LOL!). But my tattoo has a personal meaning to me, so no, I will never ever regret my tattoo whatsoever. (I'm actually planning on extending my tattoo and adding some more colors to it too! LOL)

Nope, i will have absolutely no regrets when im 80 and considering when I turn 80 i highly doubt anyone else will have a problem considering most of my age group has at least 1 tat.
I think they should get a nursing home for all the old fogies with tats in 60 years so we can unite. hahah

I told myself when I decided I wanted a tattoo to think about it for a full year. If, by then, I still wanted it I probably wouldn't regret it down the road.
Also, if you're concerned about regretting it in your 80s, just get it on a location that no one will see besides you're husband. After my year is up, and I still want it, I'm going to get it right above my butt so that no one will ever see it except for me (I'm not getting it for anyone else anyway, so it doesn't need to be on display all the time, you know?). Also, getting something that means something to you is more likely going to past the test of time. If you get a random symbol that you decided upon on the spot, there's more of a chance you'll regret it later.

LMAO too punkyglitter's answer! When I'm 80 I'll be the coolest granny in the old folks home! As I posted on another similar question, I'm sure my great grand kids will love me tatts and all, specially if I keep candy handy to spoil them with. Like my son said when he was a bit younger "mommy, your like a coloring book" God love him. Even if my skin gets all wrinkly, I will still love each and every tattoo I have, and have yet to get! Pink Panther will just look a bit older and wrinkly as well, instead of a Dragon, I will have an old wrinkly Dragon etc.

I'm only 22 and I already regret my tattoos. I have 3, one I LOVE, and the other 2......not so much. I was 16 and didn't think or care, I just thought tattoos were cool, now I wish I would have listened to my mom, because I would never have gotten them.
