I actually lived with someone like that for 7 years, He lied about how many times he'd been married, he lied about still being married, he lied about how many children he had, he lied, lied, and lied some more. Every time I caught him in a lie, he had some sob story(and boy could he turn on the tears) about being afraid of losing me, or that was how he dealt with the loss, and use more lies to cover up the lies.
I have learned that if I catch 'someone' in a lie once, that's it I will never believe another word that 'someone' says to me!
All of his lies, ended me with me being $50,000 in debt!
My advice, "Don't trust any one who lies to you" They will continue to lie over and over! Just as once a cheater, always a cheater! The same applies to someone who lies!

Yup, what that means is that they are insecure and ashamed of who they are.
They create these personas to manufacture people's interests.
They rely on these superficial facades to continue to impress, but eventually, reality catches them in their web of deceipt.
They mean well (some do), but not necessarily the best way to gain someone's trust.
Basically, they are cosmetic and the relationship is futile.
