Was there an election ? A special contest ? Did he just proclaim himself mayor ? The reason I need to know, is because I'm thinking about becoming the mayor of the political section. I need helpful hints.

I named myself mayor. Anyone can name themself anything they want.
I consider myself mayor because I talk to most of the regulars and know who they are, where they are from, and if someone has gone on vacation they let me know and then when I see a question "where is so and so" I answer with yes so and so is on vacation.
I have networked with most people here and know them and like them.
If someone wants to proclaim themself governor or president im not going to stop them,
the idea was just to have it be a fun one,
call yourself mayor of politics do it,
we can have "mayor's confrences".

It was a general consensus among the R&S regulars that Jim Darwin was the best man for the job. He was kind of obligated due to his enormous...success in this section.
I suggest you make yourself loveable (if politicos do loveable) and develop a following. You have to have followers to be a successful mayor.
Then get a hot wife like me.

It was a bloody coup de etat.
Sho Nuff, the former mayor of R&S, was so beaten down that he has since undergone numerous personality changes.

I suppose somebody nominated him, there wre no other nominations, and nobody voted against him. That's what happens when you don't get out and vote!!!
