I think it will be in our lifetime. So many things have come to pass that were supposed to, I think it won't be long now.

It's knowledge that man cannot have for certain, but one particular sign was that the generation that lived to see the fulfillment or restoration of Israel would possibly live to see the Rapture. Modern Israel was recognized as a nation state for the first time on May 14, 1948, so anyone who has been born and is still alive today has a very good chance of being alive when the Rapture takes place. It could be today, tomorrow, or 20 years from now, but it will still be in accordance to God's plan.

Most of what you are reading in the responses are premillennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.

This is a popular belief, but there are others that can be substantiated by the bible. For example, the second coming of Christ will be the time of the final judgment of all.

We are probably going through the tribulation period now. When it started is speculative, when it ends the final judgment of everyone occurs.

Some groups, such as the folks over at http://worldwide.familyradio.org... believe the final judgment will be upon us sometime in mid-2011!

According to the History Channel - theRapture was an interpretation from a from an early 1900's American christian branch. They had their own edition of the bible. Many fundalmental christians do not believe in the rapture. The point is to have your walk in God before Christ comes.

Listen man. Rapture isn't real.. Think about it. Have you ever noticed that when the Earth gets destroyed, it begins to renew itself. That is saying that the earth was meant to be here forever. We were meant to stay here. There is no rapture.

Rapture will happen whenever you sense the loving Spirit of God in your life. Why wait for a specific day when all will be taken up? Thats a waste of time. Live life today in the full presense of the Spirit, Body and Blood of Christ. The full presense of God made flesh and spirit in Jesus is in the world now, and can be within each soul who loves God. Why not dwell in God's presense now instead of worrying needlessly about the rapture to come. Heaven begins now until forever.

For those who know the Spirit of love inside now KNOW that God is Love, and Love exists now.

Love created all physical and spiritual things as the Father God. Love became flesh once in Jesus Christ and showed us just how much the Father God loves his creation esp. humanity. Love also is Holy in Spirit and can dwell anywhere and in anytime, but especially wants to be in human souls who choose to accept the faith, believe in and love the God of Love made flesh.

Love is beyond our understanding and yet we all desire to be loved. If you have ever felt love from anyone, even a parent, you know something of the love of God. Knowing love is the rapture that exists now! All experiences of love are a foretaste of heaven divine and still are a type of heaven on earth. They wets our desire to be loved even more. Hopefully it will wet our desire to accept the fullness of love by the God who will love us into eternity with a love that builds on love every instance of our being. How sad it is for those who know not the raptureous love of Love made flesh.

The big 'Rapture' to come is something we don't have to worry about as Christians. It is something those who do not love the God of Love in Jesus Christ should worry about. We should worry about the important things like how to be the most kind, generous, and loving being each day; ie. like Jesus would like us to be. "Let my soul glory in the Lord. Let my spirit rejoice in God my savior." (Sung my Mary after the conception of Jesus within her womb, the God of love made flesh.)

The rapture will never happen because the Evangelicals made it up to elevate themselves even more. Talk about Bible bases! Where's the Bible connection to that?

the rapture will be preceded by a plague of uni-cycling sea lions playing Abba songs on accordions and dogs shall play poker and pool as the holy images show.
