How do you know when a guy means it?

when he tells you that you are beautiful?

I don't consider myself beautiful. When guys tell me that I am, I can't help thinking they say that just to be nice.

I know some of you are going to say they just try to get in women's pants.

Just take it for what it is and say "thank you".

This whole over-thinking about this subject might be indicative of a bigger problem. I am referring to your self-esteem. If you do not consider yourself beautiful, then you might have some issues at hand. This could lead to actual people trying to use you. I think, before you try dating, you should take some time for yourself and discover that inner beauty.

Those guys might simply be sincere and see something in you that you might not. Remember, beauty isn't entirely physical. The most beautiful people in the world aren't the flashy trend setters, they are those whom transcend time. Look at Albert Einstein, Emily Dickinson, Isaac Newton, and other notable figures in history. They are whose beautiful minds affected people on a global scale. Then there are people who influence our lives personally. They aren't glamorous. They are normal people with awesome personalities that are worth remembering a lifetime.

Remember, find your inner beauty... it's there.

have you considered the possibility that you maybe ARE beautiful !!!
it's one thing to only one guy says that to you, but you said guys (plural), and you said it like that happens on a regular basis, so maybe just maybe YOU ARE beautiful !
having said that, you probably should STOP being such a negative person and embrace life as it is, and live it to the full. Replying to guys:"Ooh, no, you're just saying that. I;m not beautiful!" can actually be very repulsive for a guy.
Someone says you're beautiful? Enjoy it !

true some are just saying it to get into your pants.. so you gotta be careful.. but it alot of guys tell it to you as well as family and others then it's quite possibly true.. sure your saying well these people are supposed to tell me that.. haha.. somewaht true but check this.... i know a GORGEOUS girl.. and much like you she doesn't have a picture on her profile.. not saying you have the same reasons for this but... haha... she suffered from a car wreck when she was younger i discovered and therefore thought that her injuries from the wreck gave her a yuck apperance and that was.. obviously not true.. she just had some emotional scars and once i talked to her about respecting and loving herself she was cool.. and now she won't stop taking pictures.... to ... the effin point that it annoys me but..lol... and she's not the only girl i know that that...

anyway.. as far as guys and sincerity... you'll feel it for one.. and you won't question is he tryna get into my pants.. you'll know automatically if one is trying to do that because you'll think it.. if a guy doesn't have intentions then that thought won't cross your mind.. until about three hours later after he's gone just because of a defensive mechanism.. haha.. but.. you'll feel secure around him.. even if you don't feel your beautiful.. but honestly on that.. confidence, respecting ya self, and loving you will help you build esteem in that endeavor.. hope i helped.. one!

beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not everyone looks for the same type of person. It shouldn't matter what they say to you. Be confident in the person that you are and not worry about what they think, because if they tell you something bad it will make you feel bad.

Lol, most guys do just to get in theri pants, but if you want to know that he means it...stare into his eyes and his eyes will surely let you know if he means it. But if you don't feel a positive vibe from looking into his eyes then he doesn't mean it. Good Luck!

check it out when a guy trys to complement a girl/women its kind of hard u can tell cause some guys just blurt it right out and its hard for them to say it but if u think its true belive them or not u know u will find out wen thier lying

When he treats you like you matter to him not just now but over a long period of time. You should always get to know him for a long time before offering. If he continually says it after getting to know him, and he treats you like you matter a lot to him. He means it in that case!!

you know they are telling you the truth when they say it simply, without going into a big speech about it. And if you look at people in public, you'll notice the men looking at you and trying not to let you see them.

When they say it without wanting something in return. Take it as a compliment and say thank you. That's something my boyfriend taught me, I've never felt beautiful either until him.
