As someone stated , A sport should have a 4.0 L6 not a 2.4 or 2.5 L4 .. the four cylinders are underpowered for such a heavy,non-aerodynamic vehicle(it's small but weighs around 4000 lbs depending on options).suggest you test drive another similiar one at a dealership to compare performance. The leak is common to all TJ wranglers...it is most likely a clogged air conditioner drain that is located on the passenger side firewall..there are two ways that will fix it...under the hood on the passenger side firewall there is a drain pipe comes out an inch or two, using a coat hanger or similiar item clean out this drain...the root of the problem is clogging with leaves, dirt, etc that falls through the cowl vent. If you remove the cowl vent(panel at the base of the windshield) you can reach down into the passenger side area of the space and remove all debris.this will stop the leaking and while in there you can seal up with silicone any accessible seams, holes, pass throughs there for a permanent fix.

As far as the leak that is a Jeep you could bring it in somewhere or try to look around the seams but every jeep I have had leaks and everyone I know with a jeep leaks. Sorry. They are great though. The power issue might be as simple as some maintence but that 2.4 engine is not very big so you will not get very much power. You can try a tune up though. It might help some.

Jeep Wrangler Sport came as a 4.0 liter six cylinder which was quite powerful. The Standard Wrangler has a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder motor which would explain your hill climbing issues.
I had a 98 Wrangler that leaked water between the windshield and the body. Eventually this moisture caused a problem with the electrical system, so I would recommend checking this seal as soon as you can.

I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport with a 4.0 6 cylinder. I've noticed no problems getting it over 65 mph. A good tune up might cure your problem also mine as a hard top and I have not noticed ANY leaks (at least not yet)

i own a repair shop and the 2.4 isn't a real powerful engine, that's for sure, you might have a good tune up done to it,and that might help it some,it should do a lot better than that,as far as the leak ,you can join the rest of us that own jeeps, they all leak somewhere,i have never seen one that didn't,you might try looking around the top or at the seams on it,this probably can be repaired, and i think a good tune up will probably help the running part of it a lot,but don't expect a lot from it,they just don't have a lot of power ,good luck,i hope this help,s.

I don't have a Sport, but I have a Rubicon, the leak sounds normal. I have a hard top on mine and have a couple of places where it leaks. The lack of power does not sound normal. If you bought it new, I would take it back and have them check it out and fix it. My jeep has amazing power, but it does have a govern er at 90 mph.

Yeah, that is the wrong engine for a Sport. Either you have your facts wrong, or somebody has switched the engine before you bought it.

Oh and to those answering... if you have a 4.0, please don't tell them your Jeep does fine over 65 mph. You have a bigger engine so of course it will. They are asking about the 2.4.

on the leak, they all leak on that side! if you open the hood you will see where you heater hoses go into the fire wall, there is some foam, thats where Mine comes in at! the problem with the speed is probable due to the small engine you have! jeeps are not the most airodynamic vehicles around!
