For God, 2000+ years is the same as a picosecond. Time does not "pass" for God. He exists in the eternal now.
Christ, the second person of the Trinity, came to earth in fulfillment of God's plan to provide an atoning sacrifice for man's sins.
God is perfectly just and righteous. As such, he must require justice for sin.
So how is a perfect God's demand for justice for sin reconciled with our own imperfections? Here we find that God came up with a perfect solution. He became flesh, lived a perfect life, and acted as our representatives in God the Father's court of justice. There He was judged and crucified, carrying all the past and future world's sins with his crucifixion. God the Son, Christ, became our sin bearer and we need only acknowledge that sacrifice to be made "justified" in God's eyes and in God's demand for justice for sin.
Think of it this way. Your son does something like breaking a neighbor's window. Yet your son is too young to be made to pay for his crime. Society demands that the parent then act in the son's role and pay for these crimes. Likewise, God the Father allows God the Son to be humankind's representative. Christ paid the price for us all; it is there in the justice bank of God. We need only claim our "share" of that account's balance and present ourselves to God.
I have simplified much of the doctrines behind these concepts. I suggest you do some careful study of the attributes of God to digest these hard sayings. Start with some basic introductions to theology, especially the attributes of a perfect being (God) and go from there.

A Court case takes time. Daniel 7:9-12. God views 1,000 years as a day. 2Peter 3:8.
So there is approximately 6 days to prove God right, or 6,000 years, then on the 7th day or the last 1,000 years of this 7,000 year week, also known as the 1,000 year reign of Christ, God will eliminate His enemies and set up a kingdom that will rule the earth forever in righteousness. Daniel 2:44
To God sending Jesus here on the 4th day suited his timetable.
Jesus was sent here for a few reasons. To teach us how to live, to pay for our sins so we can have eternal life as a gift, and to vindicate the Sovereignty of God, our Father by doing His will under various circumstances.

Dude, God was making an attempt (once again) to save us all. 2007 years ago was not the first time HE tried to get a message to us to change our evil ways. HE had first given us The Covenant. {HE never gave us the Pope or the Catholic Church who think they can act on God's behalf}
But HE gave us Jesus because HE could see the depths of evil that man would create on earth. And HE had to make a way for us all to be forgiven. It just so happens that that particular decision was made approximately 2007 years ago.
And just so you'll know: HE'll be sending Jesus in to the world once more as the Lion of Juda to make and wage war against the kings of the earth. This will be happening sooner than you think.

It was NOT 2007 years ago....
God came, man killed, what do you want the silver platter?
After to agree with those that say Catholics are Christian. They indeed are followers of Jesus Christ the true Messiah... just like a Protestant Christian.
I would love to see the Catholic people remove Catholic from them self and be addressed as Christians. After all the disciples were call Christians in Antioch .. not Catholic.

Why don't you ask God himself that question? Don't be surprised if he answers you.
I think that he sent him at that time because the religious leaders were coming to a height of twisting the word of God to their own liking and using their position in the church for social stature.
For what? John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

It was the fullness of time in the right place under the right conditions. He sent Him to die for our sins, yours included if you will ever repent and accept Him. If you will not, He did not have to suffer for your sins. The time continuem or sequence of events can be rearranged to illustrate and enhance understanding. The timing of Christ's death relative to who lived when is not relevant. We can think of His death as the first thing or the last thing in earth's history, since God is in the past, present and future at any point in time, all at the same time.

It was the best time for Jesus to come. The Jews were expecting the Messiah to deliver them from opression. They were under Roman oppression. And also, many other cultures were expecting God's son to be born around them.

God created the first blood sacrifice in the Bible, sacrificing an animal for the sins of Adam and Eve, then clothing them with the skins of the animal.
God created the last blood sacrifice in the Bible, when He sent His Son to die for the sins of the world, past, present an future.
One sacrifice forever.
The alternative.
He could have refused to provide this final sacrifice and let everyone suffer in the flames of fire for eternity.

I tell people at work this all the time... I can not answer the question Why someone did something. I am not that person and without asking them I wouldn't know... and in this case I am not GOD so can we really know. I am sure you will get all sorts of answers with all sorts of reasons but they are just guesses...someday you can ask God yourself.
