I'm pregnant - 6 months gone, and i am getting within the next 2 months. I need a wedding dress to fit me for starters, secondly, i want it to look nice, and finally, i'm on a really tight budget - no more than £200. I know i'm probably asking far too much, but I really would love it if ANYONE can come up with some suggestions!!! Please Help!

It all depends on your likes and dislikes.
If I was in your position, I would have a nice outdoor wedding in the backyard of my parents house (or other friend/ family w/ a nice setting). I would go buy a pretty, simple dress (they make a lot of cute maternity ones these days). Keep it simple, you have enough stress as it is and more is NOT good for your baby.

Congratulations!!

I got married in December on a budget & had a heavenly wedding! Virtually everything from ebay - there is a brilliant bridal shop on there called Jewlz which has a fantastic range & very reasonably priced. I doubt you'll do it all for £200 but the savings I made for a full bash wedding was amazing.
We spent £3500 but saved at least £5000 by shopping selectively on ebay mostly. I didn't have anything second hand - although it wouldn't have bothered me if I had. I don't think there was anything I didn't have but I didn't splash out on a car (£600 for an 8 mile journey!). I am amazed at what people are prepared to spend on a wedding when the savings are there to be had - money you can put to a better use after the wedding. Especially if you are expecting. Good luck and enjoy your day.

If you know someone who can sew, you can buy your wedding dress at a thrift shop and alter it to fit.

Other than that, I would suggest looking for simple styles with clean lines - avoid lots of embroidery or beading as those details drive the price up. An empire waist would work well in late pregnancy, or a retro flapper style with a band about the hip.

Consider some non-traditional options as well. Perhaps your wedding could be very casual and you could wear something suitable for future use, instead of commiting all your money to a dress you will only wear once.

Congratulations on both the wedding and the upcoming new arrival.
Try the ads in your local newspaper,or other similar papers like freeads etc.
Without meaning to be rude it would have helped if you said what size dress you need.
As people on this site may have what your after at a price you can afford.
I know someone who has got a wedding dress size 12 i believe, that they would sell for about £50.
Its actually a very nice wedding dress and they bought it from the local paper.
Unfortunately she is an extremely busty woman and could'nt zip it up proper because of the size of her chest.
I know this is true as it is my sister inlaw and the dress is in a box in my wife & i's bedroom where she tried it on.
She eventually got her fiancee to get his credit card out and buy another one.
So the one she first bought she did'nt use and has no use for it,so i know she would sell it for what she paid.

GOOD LUCK for the future.

Call some bridal shops in your area, and tell them exactly what you just told us. If anyone would be able to help you - it would be people in the bridal dress business. I would suggest to explore other possibilities as well - go to a department store and see if you can find anything festive enough to fit the occasion. On such a tight budget, and on such short of a notice, it might be very difficult to find an actual *wedding* dress to fit you.

Have you thought of borrowing one from someone in the family or a friend? Some people may not want the dress back and it's amazing how a good dress maker can let out or add a little matter. Best wishes

The best thing to help your budget is just to go down to the courthouse, or get a jp or however you get married quickly, and get married asap. Because of circumstances, no big fancy traditional wedding dress - c'mon! Just a pretty dress will do fine, and just have family for a small dinner at your home.

Look in charity shops for your wedding dress. Ebay could be an option but i think it's safer to try the dresses on for size especially as you are expecting.

Do a buffet and buy your wedding cake from tesco. they do ready made plain white iced fruit or Madeira cakes that you could ice on your names and put flowers on etc. For the buffett get your food from iceland as they do home delivery and you can usually get 3 packs of buffet things such as sausage rolls, chicken and pizzas for a fiver.

Hope you have a great day.

look in your local paper or Charity shop for a wedding dress that you will be able to adjust to fit you, and after your ceremony instead of a sit down meal you could have a party in your local pub or club a lot of them don't charge and ask all close friends and relatives to bake or make some food to bring along i'm sure they'll be glad to help
