Yeah, like that makes any sense. You create a being that is higher than you and then attempt to make the accountable for their actions. That is the same as currently society holding either actors/actresses or professional athletes higher than most people. What happens when they break the law? They are forgiven of their crimes and do some menial community service. Where a "real" person is given the true sentence. Have you not observed that? So why with a being that they truly hold in such high esteem (creator of all, etc) would he be accountable for anything, like murder or rape?

Humans invented God, the way children invent Night Terrors or the Monster in the closet or the Boogieman under the bed... ask the kid why he doesnt "INVENT" the monster to be scared of more than just a night-light?

Because humans who invent God only do so in times of great trouble when it's fashionable and convenient to worship Him. At those times humans who invent God humbly ask why because they realize that in comparison to the atrocities that brought them to their knees they've got it pretty good. When time and trouble pass these inventors of God become uninventors because getting on one's knees before Him is no longer fashionable or convenient and pays no immediate dividend or annuity.

Humans who understand they are subjects of God know that they are accountable to Him.

Because wealthy humans invented God.

It reflects the claim that those in power are infallible because they were ordained by God...

Look up the divine right of kings and the stuff about the pope.

Paul also echoes this when he commands that slaves obey their masters.

Why would a supposedly perfect being have to be accountable? To imagine he was accountable would be to imagine he was imperfect.

And only the Monotheistic faiths hold that their deity is not accountable. Romans, Greeks, Norse, and the Irish DID hold their original pantheons responsible and accountable, because they did not believe their deities to be perfect by any measureo f the word.

Easy. Its the ultimate cop out. Invent a god who is the originator of everything. Have him give you instructions to do 'whatever'. If anything goes wrong, you can't be blamed because you were doing god's will. God can't be blamed because he is god - all powerful and all good. What a rackett!

You make it sound like people sat down and "Designed"
a diety.

Realistically, primative man was being inundated by things
that he couldn't explain and simplified his view of the Universe
as having an entity that controlled everything that he
couldn't control.

Things really haven't changed that much since then.
