I'm not sure what the record is for swimming the Atlantic, but the first guy to do it - comparitively recently - was in 1998 - a Frenchman by the name of Benoit Lecomte. It took him 72 days (including a seven day stop-off in the Azores) for a 6-8hr swim each day. Naturally, he had the aid of a back-up crew in a boat and an electric forcefield to keep the sharks at bay.
London to say Moscow is about 1500 miles as the crow flies. On foot, you could safely add quite a bit more to that figure. If you assume that you can do 4 miles an hour for 10 hours a day, it means you can do 40 miles daily, though this depends on the terrain and weather and if you are carrying your own tent and supplies. After forty days on the road you should have covered 1600 miles and be safely in Russian territory. To cross the rest of Russia to the far east would probaly take as much time again, close to eighty days, which is pretty much the best time you could hope to cross the Atlantic in.
Therefore, I'd say that the two feats are about the SAME !! :-)
