it helps your blood from running everywhere-it shows where it bubbles on the surface for easier clean up as well it kinda stops some bleeding, it keeps the skin moistureized since a tattoo is a form of trauma to the body and also it helps moisture in since the solution they keep wiping your skin with is a mixture of soapy water and alcohol it prevents the dehydration of skin from that and thats as far as i know

To keep the area lubricated. Keep blood from running. Keep the stencil from coming off. I think.

what they said... but my artist doesn't use vaseline, he uses A+D.
