Hi All!

My fiance is Caucasian and I am African-American. We're having a difficult time finding information on how to plan our multicultural wedding. For example, my family/friends wouldn't appreciate hearing The Rolling Stones all night and his family/friends wouldn't appreciate hearing Earth, Wind & Fire (let's not even get into modern day hip-hop!) all night!!

How did you solve issues likes these at your wedding? Can anyone suggest a site or two?

Thanks!

Play what you both like plus all the typical party favorites. Your relatives are going to have to accept the differences and give them the respect they deserve. This is your weding and you are paying for it, do not try to please every person or you will go nuts.

I am having a similar problem, I am a big ol' redneck, he is a sophisticated jazz kind of guy. Our compromise was keeping a good mix of the more main steam of both kinds of music. Talk to several DJs and see what they can come up with, and make sure they have adequate music to suit your needs. Good luck ( by the way I love Earth Wind & Fire )

i imagine all of your concepts are tremendous! Is there the different recommendations to contain different aspects in to the day truly than a lot 'leisure' at the same time as i'd like to make sure all of those performers a number of your visitors would commence to sense like it really is slightly a lot. the idea of having the dresses in island fabrics is astounding - would your fiancee be prepared to placed on a mexican mantilla for her headpiece in honor of your historic past (per chance one from interior your household?)? per chance with a Samoan wreath of leaves over it and also you should placed on a wreath besides. because you're both American Indian (i'm assuming diverse tribes notwithstanding) maximum likely comprise that besides - per chance with rings? i imagine this is going to be the marriage of the year among your household and acquaintances! reliable success and luxuriate in it!!

its YOUR wedding. dont stress too much about what others think but find a middle ground that both your families appreciate. Maybe something soft...jazz...experiment w/ more music. go to a music store and ask someone who knows music..
