Medicine does help IMMENSELY. And if your weary about getting prescription meds, try an herbal stress reliever. They work well too. Also a good relaxant mixture is 200mg of calcium an 200mg of magnesium taken together twice a day.

Try to focus on something else, I know that this is hard to do when you are freaking out. Lie down in a quiet, dark room, put a pillow under your hea and knees. Concentrate on your breathing, take deep breaths in through your nose and out through pursed lips (like your blowing out birthday candles). Imagine yourself in a quiet relaxing place, like floating on a lake, on a raft with the sun beating down on you. Feel the warmth of the sunshine on your face and body. Allow your self to live in that moment, relaxed without worries.
Good luck at your Dr appointment. He/ She will be able to give you something to help with the anxiety, like ativan or elavil. Ativan works fast and is very effective. Then you can start to work on whether the anxiety attacks are chemical bases or pyschological based. If they are chemical imbalances then they will give you medicine to replace those chemicals that you are missing, to get you back to a normal state. If it's pyshcological, you may need the sedatives to assist you while you get some therapy to find the root of the problem. Either way, your taking the first step by seeing your Dr today. Good Luck, I will keep you in my prayers.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.
Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

Calm down, take deep breathes in through your nose and out through you mouth. Keep doing this and you will calm down. You are not dying. Do you know what you are panicking about. Is it exams or something at school. Something that has happened to you. You need to think about it, and try to sort it out. Tell someone. tell your parents or an older friend or relative. You may need to take a visit to you doctor if it is persistent, but deep breathing will stop it initially.

Your doctor will give you something to calm down for now. At your age, it probably won't affect your heart that badly. You will feel better. Good luck at the dr.

stop.
breathe in, now out. just do that for two minutes, focus on breathing.
afterwards, lie down. don't think. just don't think.
nothing is wrong, you'll be fine. this will be over soon. <3
