I refuse meds as i don't really want to get better anymore - getting better would mean living my life. I don't want to. Is this a symptom of depression? I have been told that it shows how deeply i am depressed - is that true? thanks.

Yes, quite deeply depressed! See a mental health specialist. No matter what you are feeling now, life is worth living!

It's interesting that you bring this up on YA because deep down I think that means you really want to get better. You just need the courage to do it. Is there something about your life before that you don't want to repeat, which makes you say that you don't want to live your life?
There is help for you. Why don't you call a suicide or mental health hotline. There is no pressure for you, you can be anonymous, and get information of different options. Perhaps there is one that you would consider.

Yes, you are severely depressed, and you need help. There has to be a reason why you don't want to carry on living. Have you been hurt, have you done something wrong that you regret, not necassarily wrong, but regret. Something must have happenend to you to put you off life. Life has many ups and downs, and is worth living. You will get to a better place if you seek help. Can you get out of the situation you are in now?
Please seek help ASAP. You WILL feel better.

awwww(((hug)))

YES! U R def depressed.
and yes it shows how deep your depression is.

there is hope. if you cant see it trust someone you know well to tell u so. have them have hope for u...until u can have it 4 urself.

get help....if not only to get better...to help uy figure out your life and why it feels so sucky 2 u. what is wrong? can u fix it or change things? a bad relationship? see? u can talk about this horrible life u have and see how to make it tolerable.

I am depressed too and go through these symptoms as well.
I was at my therapist last night crying my life sucks and I want to die, etc. now here i am a few hours later trying to give you hope....isnt that weird?

maybe your life doesnt suck....but your experience of it does. like you have major depression and nothing is going to make u happy through that screen of depression. nothing.....nothing will do it.
my life is "good" ...2 awesome kids, wonderful husband...etc. but i hate my life....not them. my experience of my life. not my loved ones.
4 me....that is why i stick around. for my 2 kids. they need me.
does anyone need u?

I hope u r ok.
good luck and please try meds...therapy .....give it a chance
if you feel suicidal...people do care...even strangers...call 911.

peace..

yes girl...I am sad to hear you say that!! dont ever think that you dont want to live your life (unless something REALLYYYY fu*ked up was happening in your life) but other than that as long as you have health you can always keep going on....try to think positively about things and see a doctor

Depression can tax your immune system, cause high blood pressure, stomach ailment, and suicide. If you don't get help, make peace with your maker! This is not cool!
