The time it takes to get a six pack will vary by from person to person. Your success is determined by your diet, the exercises you do and your genetic makeup.

Some people will start seeing results in a few weeks while others will take significantly longer. The key is to not get frustrated if it does take you a little longer. If you keep at it, you will see results.

As far as exercises and workouts go, there are a plethora of options. I recommend checking out the resources below to get you started.

Do crunches. Stick your feet under a couch, and knock em out. Set a limit... say of 50. Try to do em with out stopping at all. See how you do. Do it twice a day, morning and night. The excercise itself will take no more than 5 mins each time and you will see results in 2 weeks. Shoot for 100 crunches 2x a day. Good luck.

I got my six pack by doing situps and crunches on a board with my feet stapped down at a 45 degree angle. How long it took......probably at least three months.

To show off your abs, you need to burn off the layer of fat that is covering them. To do this you need to go on a calorie restricted diet and do a lot of exercise including cardio and sit ups. The layer of fat will not go away by simply doing sit ups and crunches.

Cardio, specifically "high intensity interval training" (look it up in wikipedia). It raises your BMR substantially so you are burning more fat throughout the day when you aren't working out.
