After all we have Shelias Wheels, Diamond etc. They could call it Bruce's Tyres. Or would that be sexist?

Bruce's tyres! Ha! good one....

I don't think it would be sexist, but i wouldn't think you'd save much compared to a ladies-only policy.

Ok, women are safer drivers. But surely that statistic is based on the fact that when families go out at the weekend or in the evening the Dad is the person most likely to drive and there are potentially more people on the road during these times.

I know this may sound sexist but a lot of women (or more accurately mothers of small children) will drive more during the day when the roads are quieter, hence less risk of accident, hence lower risk.

Ok, it's a long shot but you get the point.....

You're right though, insurance companies have cashed in on women-only and older-driver (40+) policies. Be careful though, i know of a few girls who have been roped in to these only to find their insurance isn't very competitive in the 2nd/3rd year as they know you'll assume they're still the cheapest. Always good to shop around a bit!

Your all right it's not sexist. We are not legally protected like you girls are. Thats why Shelia's Wheels can exist. If we set up bloke only insurance then someone could call it sexist and legally have it closed down. So much for equality!! I'm not bothered really but watch out some sad loser will probably take Shelia's Wheels to the European Court of Human Rights.

Ha ha, nice one! You know statistically men actually have fewer accidents than women. The problem is that women bend bumpers, men bend the whole damn car - oops, thats why our premioums are higher! and there is also a lot of truth in what the guy above said about men normally being the primary driers in a relationship.

I wonder what the pro-feminism lot would say, they'd only moan it's sexist.

To be honest, women are more susceptible to advertising campaigns for "women only" items than men are for "men only" items. It's just a sales ploy. Go to the shielas wheels advert in yellow pages and see who underwrites it! Ten quid says it Norwish Union or Zurich!

It would be interesting if a man applied to Sheila's Wheels and was declined because he's male. That would be sex discrimination and actionable. I doubt if hte Company has dispensation under the law.

It's a nice idea - but I don't think we'd be better off. It's certainly true that men have more accidents, but that's because they're all swerving out of the way of the women.

Women have their own insurance companies beacuse tarrifs can be kept lower, as, on mass, they claim much less than men.

Therefore, in principle there could be an all male company... but rates would be high, which would just be pointless...

Strange, isn't it, that they're allowed to get away with the "women only" business in this daft pc age?

Actually, my better half investigated whether the "women only" people actually gave better value, and found out that they didn't!

Ironically it would be seen as sexist. Equality? One way street it seems.
