Because overall I find arguing with other Christians to be more aggravating than arguing with atheists. Atheists seem genuinely interested in well-thought out answers (even if they don't agree). If I argue with another Christian then they will often cross their arms and say either 'well that's what I believe' or 'well your wrong and not a good Christian because you don't believe ___' They just aren't as open to an exchange of ideas.
Sad but true

I think that most Christians have a real problem backing up their belief systems. It is hard to explain why you accept the Catholic teaching that Sunday is the day of Rest when the Jews and the Christians in the Bible rested on Saturday. Most Christians don't really understand why they believe what they believe, other than family tradition.
The truth is the Bible is too hard to interpret and understand fully, so Christian differences are based on differing interpretations and can't be proven right or wrong typically.
Why do Christians eat pork and denounce homosexuality? They are both sins that are stipulated in the bible, but for some reason, Christians have found a way to damn one and enjoy the other?

Arguing over details is a waste of time, and is usually only about pride. I've seen many Christians sit around and "discuss" the details of the Bible and it is usually just to prove how "intelligent" they are.
Nothing wrong with an opinion, but when it has to be an argument, leave me out.
I will, however, agure the non negotiables.

Because the Evangelicals believe that they are the one and only "real" christians and everyone else is going to hell. There is no discussing with them.

Because they try to "convert" us first. Only in the churches they argue about doctrine.

Many Christians prefer blind ignorance and fanaticism to critical thought and freedom.
That they believe unthinking slavery to dogma is "love," is a prime example.

The essential thing is to get out the Message, not to waste time on minor differences.

Could it be because the discussion is always interrupted by some childish demeaning remarks from non-Christians?
