I have know people who have been denied access to the USA for any criminal conviction (Amrican or Canadian). It will all depend on the person you get to speak to at the border, some will some won't.

If the DUI was considered a criminal charge (which it is, for a first offense in most states), you now have a criminal record in the US. If it was considered a felony (which basically meant it wasn't your first DUI/DWI, and/or something else happened, like an accident causing death or severe injury), you have a FEDERAL criminal record in the US.

With a criminal conviction (note, it's conviction, not simply charge) on your record, you can be turned away at the border of the country in which you have been convicted.

With a felony conviction, you can be turned away at the border of ANY nation, at the discretion of the customs and immigration personnel of that country - including Canada (even if you're a Canadian citizen). You WILL be refused entry at any US border point.

With the crazy situation we have here in the US right now, you might want to stay in the land of the free (Canada) until this "WAR ON TERROR" is finished.

BTW, the WOT will end after the last person spitting on the sidewalk is apprehended. You would do better with e-mails, pictures going to Rush concerts (great band).
