There are a lot of freaks, weirdos, and people just looking for sex, as well as the odd normal person. But this isn't any different than the bar scene. At least online you can carry a conversation without having to shout over really loud music.

I've been doing it for a year. I was tired of going to bars etc to find someone. I've had some really bad experiences, but I've also made a few good friends too. So far I haven't found the "one" but I am still working on it. You have to talk to them first and don't just give out phone numbers right away etc. Meet somewhere neutral the first time you meet them and see how it goes before you know where the other lives etc. Just keep in mind there are some of them that are on the internet for a reason...lol. (not all of them, but there are a few) Pick and choose wisely.. good luck!

tried it 3 times lol first time i made a wonderful friend thats still in my life no regrets second time disaster huge mistake stalker like person had to move to feel safe third try i found the love of my life we have been together 3 years and going strong i think it depends on the time you put into getting to know the person first and safety should always be first never meet anyone alone ever no matter what .

I had met my fiance from the internet and we got to know eachother through the internet before meeting in person.

BUT if you do ever meet in person, you need to make you the two of you are surrounded by your friends, people you trust just in case.

also when dating over the internet, make sure you know what they look like through a picture otherwise your imagination might make a face for their words, and then later you could be dissapointed when you meet them in person.

Yes and I didn't have any luck. One woman was so over anxious to go to bed she scared me before we even met. When I told her I would like to met her she suggested we go to a motel. I guess she was a little too fast for me. I'd like to know someone just a little before I boff her. I met another one and know why she turned to the interenet for dating. I'm sure this isn't what happens every time but I gave up with two not so good experiences.

I met my boyfriend online, and it has been the best relationship i have ever been in. We got a chance to get to know each other before we met. If you find out that you really arent interested, its not so difficult to tell the person b/c you've never heard their voice, and you've never met them, so there is no physical attatchment, plus, you can plan out where you first want to meet, and make sure it is in a public place.

Now happily married thinking about having our first baby. And yes, we met online 8 years ago, dated, met in person, fell in love, and here we are.

Sometimes it works, sometimes doesn’t, but for my case, it worked perfectly fine!
