I have an extreme case of hormone imbalance, I have hair on my face back, and breast. I used to be very attractive, I was voted most attractive in high skool,Now,I gained 60-75 pounds in 3 years,& I'm very hairy. i don't take the time to invest in my looks because I feel what does it matter, I have a beard I can only wear t-shirts 2 my neck (chest hair) I no longer care about what I dress like. When we get in public, for an example we were in a crowded elevator, and my aunt said, 'Oh lord, u look so nasty today. Fix ur hair!" and my younger sister said 'Fat and Nasty" The ppl in the elevator just giggle, I said nothing. I practice daily grooming habits, I bath twice a day, but I don't see the need in dressing nice (t-shirts and sweats) or doing my hair (ponytails)
If u would have seen me when i was 13-17 I was gorgeous. I've gained so much weight and I have polycystic ovaries, so Ive got tons of hair everywhere and I've lost my hourglass figure. How can I make myself love myself again?

Well it sounds like that isn't very healthy to have the hormone problems. There are hormone therapists that can work with you for the best hormonal solution.
Now take a piece of paper. Write down all the cool things about yourself that you can think of, and I know you can. You are obviously a very beautiful sensitive soul, or none of this would get to you. When you are done, look at that piece of paper and think long and hard about it. How could one not love themselves when they have all these great qualities?
Gain up your confidence and put those qualities to good use. Use the energy you put into feeling bad about yourself into something that makes you feel good.
Then I want you to tell your poor excuse for a family that how dare they mock you for your medical condition?! How would they feel in your shoes? They may not even realize they're saying anything to offend you until you speak up.

great news you are still beautiful. bathing twice a day might actually make your skin dry. So try taking a nice long hot bubble bath. Now you said that you have a beard. I don't know how thick it is but maybe have it waxed. (if you have the money) that is expensive sometimes. getting dressed up can always make you feel good and so can smiling. however before any thing that people are going to recomend is going to work physically, you need to know that you are beautiful inside. also how rude of your sister and aunt to say such horrible things to you. also ask your dr what you can do about the hair issue. Nobody is perfect. not physically. try to remember what used to make you feel good about yourself when you were younger and try that. Don't be afraid to ask for help look for a support group with the same hormonal differences. and see a therapist to help you with your self esteem. hey I had acne all over my body and was 165 pounds when i was 13. just try to remember that beauty is not really on the outside. I hope this helps and I hope that all goes well for you. I am sure that it will because you really are beautiful

Actually I think your body hair growth may be connected to your weight gain. Sometimes -- for whatever reason -- testosterone levels go up with with obesity. In the mean time, you get a home waxing kit to control the hair growth. You also need to find a support system. Your family isn't helping you in the least. Try dropping 30 lbs and see what happens. The worst case scenario is that you reverse other health complications. Finally discuss your hormone levels with your gynecologist.

You poor darling, it must be terrible for you, and I hate the way people think it is ok to giggle at you and make comments. You sound like you are doing the very best you can to look after yourself, I wear sweats, tshirts and a ponytail, well it is summer in oz and way to hot to have my hair down, but so what! I would go to doctor after doctor until I found one that knew what he was talking about and get you on hrt. Having a hourglass figure is not important, your self confidence is.

People giggle when they are embarrassed. Sometimes they see themselves in the negative way you are being addressed. So you have some physical problems.l What does the doctor say? Can you get hormone therapy? You can't love yourself when ;you see yourself as fat and hairy which is not what you once were. Only you can make yourself over and as you can control of your problems, you will once again be proud of yourself. Get some help with those problems. Good luck!

Obesity and hirsuitism (unwanted growth of hair) are common results of polycystic ovary disease.
You could try a hair remover like Nair, maybe electrolosis, and ask your doctor for a referral to a Dietitian. A Licensed/Registered Dietitian could help you work out a diet plan .A referral to a counselor might also help you build self esteem.

first of all, don't ever let anyone else get you down. in this anorexic society of ours, people stare and laugh, but something i have found after being the nerd through high school- you take care of yourself and thats it. surround yourself with people who like you for real. dont give those ******* the time of day. don't get me wrong, give everybody 2 chances to be a friend. dont be a hermit. i dont know if your religous, but ive heard evil will try to take good and make it evil. don't become bitter. here im sending you an e-hug. now go and find more people who will like you...

If you have not gone for medical treatment, please do so. Specifically an Endocrinologist that is skilled in problems involving hormones. As for your family, I don't think that they deserve the presence of your company. Do you have a friend or other family member that treats you with the respect you deserve? If so spend time with them, no one needs to be treated this way especially when it is due to a medical problem out of their control. (LOVE YOURSELF YOU ARE WORTH IT !!)

When I was in high school I had bigger breast than any girls. The only problem was I was a guy. So I kinda know how it feels to be pointed at and laughed at. See a doctor. Don't let em rent space in your head.
