I've had 6 or 7 cats that have had kittens and I would say the "average" is between 3 - 5.

Typically 4 in a litter but they can have many more - the problem is that far more kittens are born every year than there are homes for. about 2 MILLION cats and kittens are euthanized every year simply because of people allowing their cats to breed and there are not homes for them.
even IF you find homes for your kittens it means somebody elses kittens will NOT find homes.
only purebred show quality cats who have proven (at shows and from vet checks) that they are excellent examples of the breed should be allowed to breed.
all others should be spayed or neutered
spayed or neutered cats have fewer health problems and risks

A cat usully can have from 4-6. Those are the most comman numbers. I've heard of cats having 1 cat and I've heard of 1 cat who got 12 kittens all survived!!!!

It really depends. I've had cats who've had 1, 2 and up to 6 kittens. They say you can tell by how many swollen or protruding nipples she has but I don't think that's very accurate.

It can be from 1 to 8. Your vet will be able to give you a better idea by feeling your cats abdomen. I just brought my cat in for a "prenatal" checkup and the vet said she will have a small litter based on what he felt.

all the moma cats i've seen have 5and sometimes 6or even 4 it depends i guess,all my cats are fixed so we;ll never go thru that again..
