I bought a new emachines computer and it came w/windows vista.I have a lexmrk 3100 series/hp office jet all-in one printer scanner and fax.Nothing happens when I try to scan the pics,just error report,couldent complete scan.Please help.

I have an HP al-in-one printer but I don't know about the Lexmark software. I'll offer this, in case you have the HP Solution Center software. Go to Settings, then choose Scan Settings and Preferences, then choose Scan Picture Settings, and you can specify stuff like *where* the scanned picture will be placed (and the type of file that will be created: jpg, tif, etc.)

make sure you have the drivers installed, they should come in a disc that was with the box of the scanner
