Mom is 82 first hosptial visit dec. Direaha, vomiting, not eating. Heartattack in hospital, stent put in release Jan 9. Put back in hospital Feb 13 for same reason not eating weak. Stomach problems. Released to Rehab. Back in hospital Feb 17 infection internal organs. Treated with antibotics mega doses. Now bladder isn't working right. Cathyter is in, stomach pumped daily. For some reason bladder isn't opening or something like that. Now bowels aren't working properly. Three transfusions one platlett.My questions is this. What happens when your Bladder doesn't work does it repair itself. Will she have to wear a bag the rest of her life? And will she be able to eat ever again. Im worried. On the first visit the cathyter was inserted twice giving her infection at that time is that the same. Is the hosptial responsible for this. They came to the house and never took a urane sample back to see if she had infection originally. Just need some plain answers Please Help.

There is no way to predict the outcome with any certainty. A lot depends on you mom's will and her body's ability to overcome all the problems. The odds are stacked against her when there is a cascade of problems where the doctors are just chasing symptoms as they pop up.
What's missing from the picture is the cause of these problems. If the doctors know what is causing each of the problems, there is a good chance that things will turn around. If they aren't sure exactly what's going on, the outcome is really out of their hands.
Its overwhelming when someone close to you is experiencing this sort of thing. Don't stress yourself out looking for answers - there may not be any, so take things one day at a time, and be prepared for anything from long-term custodial care for your mother, to complete recovery, or a steady decline that can't be stopped.
Your mom is lucky to have someone like you looking after her.

your mom is 82...for her to recover..from what she has been through will be a miracle..I think from what you have wrote is that your mother is suffering...just try to stay with her and keep her comfortable...
