I have to go to the gastro DR today and have that test where they put a camera down your throat, does anyone know how bad it is or the effects of a bleeding ulcer is?

My wife has had 2 of these done. They put her to sleep for the procedure. They also used a numbing spray on her throat to knock out the gag reflex, so she didn't vomit as the scope was going in. The only thing she ever complained about was a mild sore throat.

I've been scoped, and it wasn't bad at all...of course, I was under anesthesia and asleep when they did it.

I'd say if you're having it done while asleep, it'll be just fine. I woke up and my throat was slightly sore and my mouth was dry..otherwise I was just fine. And I'm a MAJOR chicken when it comes to pain and things like this.

Had one a couple of years ago. Got a nice nap from it. Not a bad experience at all. MUCH better than them checking out the southern end.....
