Your dog is going outside often to check on it's territory! Especially male dogs are very protective of their space and they don't like intruders in their space.
One of my Goldens won't let squirrels into the yard at all.
They feel it's their duty to protect their territory, that it!

Maybe theres something out there that your dogs wants, maybe theres another dog out there or maybe your dog just like the out doors, may be you should make him an outside dog.

There may be a dog in your area that is in heat, (if you have a male dog. If you have a female she may be looking for a male dog.

dogs are animals! They need to be let outside and are constantly drawn to nature! Don't hold them back!

Maybe because of the nice weather or he must have smell food outside, try to give him some food.

The weather here (austin tx) is beautiful. My dog doesn't want to come in. I think she is just enjoying the great weather...
