i have had fine hair all my life so i know how you feel.I have tried every thickening lotion, potion, shampoo and conditioners there are and all were totally ineffective.I must have wasted hundreds of pounds. Then i heard about a supplement called Nourkrin and BINGO within 4 months i had thicker and better conditioned hair. Now i am not going to exagerate and claim i have a full head of thick hair but it is about twice as thick as it was and i am delighted.Everyone i know has noticed. It is available from health food shops such as Holland and Barratts and larger Boots and Superdrug stores. It can also be purchased online. It is expensive at £40 to £50 per month and you will need to complete a course of 6 months. Results should be noticed by month 2 or 3.I did not consider it a lot of money considering the results and all the money i had previously wasted.Hope this info is useful.

I have the same problem and the best product I've tried is Elasticiser by Philip Kingsley. You put it onto wet hair then rinse out and shampoo as normal. It really does leave your hair looking thicker and glossier. It costs about £17.00 plus p&p from lookfantastic.com. Quite expensive I know but you don't need to use much so it lasts for ages.

I'm 21 and have the same problem ... I've just always had thinner hair. you're never gonna find any one product to solve your problem ... all you can really do is work with what you have. i do occasionally use a thickening spray from pantene. it doesn't make a HUGE difference but if you apply it to your roots and blow dry your hair upside down it'll make a difference that at least you will notice. as far as the shampoos and conditioners, they all kind of do the same thing in rinsing out better to keep hair lightweight. there's really no miracle to any of them.
what i do is experiment with different hair styles. i do the high pony tail thing a lot. it really works for my hair type. also try washing your hair with any lightweight shampoo and using a volumizing hairspray to curl your hair with a wide curling iron. i usually gather up individual curls at the top of my head with bobby pins to make it look like it has more volume.
another thing that i have found is there is really no getting around coloring my hair because it also adds volume to it. even if you keep coloring it your natural color. don't grow it out too long either ... keep it somewhat shoulder length. the weight of long hair seems to just make it look thinner.
on days i don't feel like messing around with my hair too much i just scrunch it, let it dry and then pin it back to make a messy bun. i don't mess around with store bought hair extensions at all, but i did have one last year that i wore a couple times. it was the kind that you just use like a scrunchie and pull your hair back in a bun with. it worked pretty well for me for a little while.
anyway this is how i deal with my problem i hope some of it works for you. good luck.
like i said you're never gonna have the thick hair you want really badly unless you turned to more drastic measures like hair implants. focus on your make-up also. it'll make you feel better about having thinner hair. i put a lot of my time and effort into my skin care regimen. try to accent your BEST features.

my hair isn't very thin so i can't help you on which products to use, but i use straight, blow dry balm by nu:u which is fantastic, so nu:u might work for adding volume if you try
nu:u velocity volumising shampoo
nu:u velocity volumising Conditioner
nu:u heights root lift spray
nu:u boost volumising lotion etc
which all are advirtised to add velocity and volume. This range is reccomned by proffesional hairdressers, as is paul mitchell's fantastic hair products .
If you really dont think this will work, try drying your hair whilst tipping your head upside down with the hairdryer on full blast. (make sure to brush it though as it can become tangled by doing this)
Also, you could try a different haircut. Extra-short layers and a fringe really boost up the volume, so does curling.

So many people have this problem. The only real remedy I know is to get extensions to make your hair look thicker, but they are costly and damaging to your hair. Maybe talk to your hairstylist and see if she can give you a flattering cut. I have fine hair and she gave me some bangs and lots of choppy layers. Now I just curl my hair in the morning and pull it back slightly- so it's not in my face and I'm good to go. Also, with fine hair don't try to grow it too long- it will look bad.

I suggest you get a thick wig over the top of your hair, there will not be the problem of fly away hair then.
