Iraq was invaded 'to protect Israel' - US official By Emad Mekay
WASHINGTON - Iraq under Saddam Hussein did not pose a threat to the United States, but it did to Israel, which is one reason why Washington invaded the Arab country, according to a speech made by a member of a top-level White House intelligence group.
Inter Press Service uncovered the remarks by Philip Zelikow, who is now the executive director of the body set up to investigate the terrorist attacks on the US in September 2001 - the 9/11 commission - in which he suggests a prime motive for the invasion just over one year ago was to eliminate a threat to Israel, a staunch US ally in the Middle East.

I feel no surprise over this. Saddam Hussein was actually supported by our government. People won't like hearing this, but America is a terrorist state. Look at ourselves people. Look at the truth.

"Today, under Bush II, Powell, Cheney and others constantly bring up those atrocities to justify beating the devil — rightly, though the crucial element of U.S. support of Saddam during this period is missing."

"We should also be aware that much of the world regards Washington as a terrorist regime. In recent years, the US has taken or backed actions in Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, Sudan and Turkey, to name a few, that meet official US definitions of "terrorism" - that is, when Americans apply the term to enemies."

I wish the United States would learn to stop playing "big brother" to the rest of the world. The Middle East situation has been going on for over a thousand years, why does Bush think that by helping one of the smallest nations there, that everything will be better? Yes, Israel is our ally in the Middle East, but "ally" does not mean "invade Iraq because they MIGHT do something to us"

So the USA plans to go into Iran and Syria after they are done with Iraq? Well that figures. I already knew that the USA was in Iraq to steal Arab oil and ruin Iraq which they have successfuly done by the way. Well if they invade Iran and Syria say goodbye to the world as we know it. And we will take Palestine back one day.
