I feel your pain.
It's awful when you can't seem to get on top of it...
The best solution I've found is "nerve blocks". I live 2 hours north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I go to the Headache and Pain Relief Centre in Toronto to see a specialist who gives this treatment. He injects a local anaesthetic in various parts of my head and neck. He won't let me leave his office until I have zero pain!!!! The relief is heavenly! It lasts for several hours. After subsequent treatments, it lasts longer and longer. With most of his patients he is able to completely get rid of their headaches after 4-6 weeks.
I also meditate frequently throughout the day. With practice, I'm now able to drastically reduce the severity of my pain!
& I recommend high doses of vitamin B2 and Magnsium.
Of course you know to drink plenty of water and avoid your food triggers.
Try to find someone in NY who will give you "nerve blocks." They will provide you with the immediate relief that you desperately need.

Has the doctor done a blood profile? You need to find out if your thyroid is not secreting enough thyroxine. If you are anemic. If your potassium is low. My girlfriend is on blood thinner too and she is tested every other week to find out if her blood is too thick or too thin. Your doctor is checking all the big things. Like for aneurysms and tumors. Hope he also is checking for the little things, like the blood profile. Please do not do any thing to yourself. I used to have horrible migraines and then doctors found out I had an irregular heartbeat and put me on Verapamil 240 mg once a day. Lower part of my heart was skipping beats. When the heart began beating normally and blood was delivered to my head as it should be, my headaches stopped. Caution, do not take anything, without doctors supervision.
Pain is a symptom of something wrong, when the doctors find out what it is and you are treated for it, the pain will stop. I found that I got a rebound from pain meds. I stopped all of them, drank water, so I did not get dehydrated. Went to bed at the same time each night, got up the same time each morning. The getting up same time each morning is very important, ever notice when you sleep in, you are more likely to get a headache.
Eat a healthy breakfast, egg, toast, oatmeal, orange juice, not just coffee and a sweet roll.
I know you are in a lot of pain right now and are saying, how can I eat. But when this passes, and it will, you can start trying to prevent future headaches. You need to enter the hospital until this migraine is over. They might also try anti depression meds until this passes.
So sorry you are going through this.

I feel so bad for you. I too used to get migraines so bad I would cry. Try lying down in a dark room. No lights at all. If it's day time when you get a migraine, put something over your eyes to block out the light. Lay down and close your eyes and relax. I still get an occasional migraine and this method still works for me. If you are so light sensitive, going into a dark room might help. Take your ibu with water like your doc said to do. Being around light just makes it worse and takes longer to go away. I really hope this helps you out.

I have the same exact problem. I have had continuous migraines for over three years now. Went to all the specialists, all the tests, chiropractor, physical therapists, I've tried everything. The only thing that helps is taking one vixen a day. I take it in the morning to help stave off the worst of it, and it really only takes the edge off. I don't know if that is something that you will be able to take, because it has the same ingredients as Tylenol, but ask your doctor to try a weeks worth, and see if it helps. If it does, great, just make sure that you don't take more than one a day, because Vixen is addicting, it's a narcotic. I hope that you are able to find something that will help, I know how frustrating it is.

I get contstant migraines as well and my Dr. sent me to a specialist. And she put me on a Migraine Preventor called "Topamax." There are other kinds of Migraine Preventor medication's but your Specialist would know which one would be best for you. (sorry I can't remember if this is a nosteriodal med or not). I believe it was a Neurologist Doctor that My Dr. sent me too.
And i've tried all the Migraine medication's and nothing else has helped until I got on "Topamax." I've tried Imatrex and all the other's and nothing has helped as good as this has. You do have to take this twice daily but its so worth it! Please Consider getting on a Migraine Prevention Medication like "Topamax." Or another one that your Dr would recommend to you.

See a chiropractor and massage therapist.
Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).
For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Well...you pretty much...are out of luck...on all the meds....that I know...to take...otherewise....the blackest...strongest coffee you can...stand! It is...an old remedy but...I know that there...are times that...it does work...won't say it...will work...all the time...but sometimes it will! You may also...want to go...to a chiropractor...sometimes something in...your back...can cause your migraine...and you wouldn't know...my dad also...has them and when...he went to a chiropractor...they compared...his legs...and they were uneven...and yes it is normal...but it was...not normal for the amount...of difference he had...and that was...the cause of his migraines...they also told him...to avoid cheese...and chocolates.

Have you tried herbal supplements? MiGone Plus is an excellent natural supplement, but you should check with your doctor to make sure it won't interact with your other medications. Also, I found huge relief with Yoga. Good luck!
