Its all part of the politics of fear. Gov't knows if we don't fear stuff, we will tell them to shove. They have to spread fear to keep us in line...
Drugs---fear
Global Warming--fear
bird flu, sars-fear
war on terror--fear

I was told once that there is no such thing as a stupid question. I believed it until now. That has to be the stupidest assumption for a question I ever heard. There are too many ways to thin the population and generate money without resorting to drugs. The cost of drug prevention and the penal system because of drugs is astronomical.

Waste of time, waste of money, waste of resources etc. We have been fighting this ridiculous "war on drugs" for 20 years now and so far all it has accomplished is making most of the drugs more readily available and in most cases cheaper. Heroin is now cheaper compared to income than it's ever been. Meanwhile we have one of the worst records in the free world at solving many of our other crimes, such as murder where we rank near dead last in percentage of cases closed, but it's ok I guess as long as they send more people to prison for getting high, wouldn't want someone smoking a joint to get away with it,much better to waste time and money on that rather than catching murderers and rapists. Not to mention that since the drug war started the amount of actual jail time served by murderers and rapists has actually decreased in many states in order to make room for the constant inflow of new non violent drug offenders. Seems we might have our priorities a bit mixed up.

The efforts to shrink drug crimes are no longer a waste of money. some look to think of it extremely is o.k. for somebody to poison their own bodies...i'm going to no longer argue that. What i visit argue is whilst the movements of a drug addict bypass previous the partitions of their own abode to the community, colleges, and previous...then it extremely is all of us's difficulty. the folk who stay interior the comparable community as a drug consumer deals with the wear-ins at their abode so the drug consumer can finance his/her habit or the enjoyed ones violence many of the drugs reason. the folk who stay interior the comparable community because of fact the drug broker could shelter the violence linked with unlawful drug sales, gang violence struggling with for turf, or the quantity of drug suitable activities linked with drug use/habit. i do no longer purchase the "enable them to do it, it extremely is no person else's difficulty" nonsense! in all fairness...those efforts to coach the popular public and handle addicts is part of the "drug conflict!"

The drug war is a huge waste of time and money and it creates all kinds of problems.
Take a lesson from Prohibition laws of The early 20th century.

Everyone knows the war on drugs is so phony, if the government was serious it would turn it into a real war and gun down the columbians, that's what I'd like to see! It's statistic fact most cocaine and meth comes from there, why not send over a few helicopters and blow the sh*t out of them

It's a complete and total waste of time and money. The money would be better spent educating our children. Taxing the stuff would generate revenue.

I am personally against the use of narcotics and "drugs" but I think that substances should be legalized. People have the right to do basically as they please provide they do not directly hurt anyone else and prohibition of any item or substance does not work.
I say we open a marijuana and cocaine shop next to all the liquor stores.

Yeah, the drug war is a waste of my time. There are too many important issues for people to continue to pursue this garbage.

Totally, pal. I say we take up our displeasure with the drug czars(This being the government and all), on their own turf, ya know? Maybe if they see how displeased we are when we drive up in convoys and mention how angry we are, they'll stop importing all those drugs, ya know? Heh, just my two cents.

It seems like ever since they started this hype of a drug war, there are more drugs on the streets now than ever before.
Heck, I can't go out on the street without one of my neighbors offering me something.
Oh, the L.A.P.D. knows all about it, but they never show their faces in this neighborhood of L.A.
