My husband is always saying it when something doesn't go right..I asked him what it meant, he told me to "look it up"..

Well,I'll go with Blind-Poet's answer but the way you wrote it ,it's right if the dialect of your husband either Moroccan,Tunisian or Algerian "fet li fet". What Blind-Poet said is the Egyptian dialect "fet /faat elli fet/faat" &it means "it's allover,don't mention it again" and it's a kind of of saying "no regret".

fat eli fat,,its like what went went..its kind of like saying theres no use talking or moaning about the past, because it happened.
