Boca Burger is a respectable replacement and unless they have some clue beforehand it is unlikely they will notice.

Boca 'meatless ground burger' can be used to replace ground beef. Boil water, add spaghetti, boil for another 15 minutes. In skillet, heat the ground meatless burger with a little water for 5 minutes, add the spaghetti sauce , for example Del Monte Four Cheese Spaghetti Sauce. Heat for another few minutes and you are done. The Boca grounds tastes very close to the real meaty deal. But not exactly. The Boca has more of a 'chewy' texture than ground beef. Boca has a brownish grey. Boca also comes in much smaller little chunky pieces than ground beef. Probably your family will be able to tell the diffrence.

I imagine it all depends on if your family is used to eating Boca Burger. If you eat them often, they're probably used to the taste and texture of the meat. If they usually eat ground beef or turkey and you slip a vegetable/soy patty in on them, I'm guessing they'll notice a huge difference. :)
I don't have any experience with Boca Burgers, but I would suggest trying to grind them up as finely as possible and make your sauce very flavorful with herbs and seasonings to mask any "after taste" they might have. Good luck to you!

A friend made a Shepperd's pie with veggie ground meat and people could just not believe it was Vegetarian. I am almost sure they will not be able to tell the difference. That stuff is really amazing. Make sure you saute with onions.

It depends on how picky the family is. Personally, I'd love it. But not my husband. I tried sneaking TVP into my chili once without his knowledge and he could still tell there was something "wrong". He thought it was gross and wouldn't eat any more of it.
But give it a shot and don't tell them until you get the reviews. :)

That's delicious. I don't think they will, especially if you use good parmesan and some Italian seasoning.
