I am 24, finished paying student loans, got a good secure job for over a year now, my birthday is coming up, time to finally reward myself...I never did get a graduation present....

Each car has it's pluses and minuses...

BMW 330ci
Positives - It's a BM, the ultimate driving machine, great handling, has usable backseat, good gas milage, has an actual usable trunk.

Negatives - People think you're snobby when driving a BM, high ownership cost, not as powerful as the other car, not as fun as the other car.

Infiniti G35 coupe
Positives - 280 hp, 0-60 in 6 seconds, good handling, nice weight distribution, I love the styling, more fun than the BM.

Negatives - Bad gas milage (although my employer pays for gas), small backseats, trunk barely has enough space for two golf bags...and I don't play golf.

Good thing you are waiting until you are to be 25, that age is a pretty big insurance cut off/rate drop.

Between the 2 cars, I would say do the Infiniti. As they are both used, the BMW will not have the advantage of a free scheduled maintanance the new ones provide. BMW's are very expensive to fix, and upkeep can be costly as well. If the previous owner was not vigilant about this, you will be picking up an expensive tab.
I do think the BMW is the better drivers car. They are more refined, get better mpg and are probably better overall handlers. The Infiniti is probably one of the best cars for the money. It has more power, and is a nice looking car. The interior is kind of low rent, but that is the only bad thing I have heard.

You cant go wrong with either of the two. Personally I'm a BMW fan myself, but the infinity G35 is fun to drive. Also the Infinity ranks higher with consumer reports than BMW. That will help you with the resale value later on. I help people buy cars for a living. My website is www.BeatAutoDealers.com . Check it out, let me know what you think.

BMW has free maintenance for the first 3 years.... so that should help defray some ownership costs.

If you like the Infiniti G35, get the Nissan 350Z instead, since they are the same car at thousands less.

Personally, I'd rather get the Acura TL-S.

Buy what you like best and don't worry about what other people think. Between those two cars, I'd get the G35 - more fun.

The money-sucking BMW is not "the ultimate driving machine", anyhow. If that's what you really want - and I would, in your circumstances - take a look at this website:

Infiniti is made by Nissan, and they've been having some reliability problems as of late... But then again, so do all the german cars. Honestly, I'd buy a lexus before either of those. Just for the reliability factor alone.

By the way... to hell with what anything thinks. Reward yourself for being a productive member of society. Screw everyone else!

Check out this website too. It lists the editor's choices for all cars, in all price ranges. Fun reading. http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/mostwanted/2007/index.html

Dont ask that to anyone on here.
What you need to do is get out, test drive both and judge for yourself.
Both are great cars, but you are the person who has to live with what you are buying. Not some people on yahoo. Would you really buy car A over car B simply because more people on Yahoo Answers told you to?
Myself i would go with the Infiniti, but thats just my personal taste. You should not choose from what i or anyone else says.

BMW is a driver's car. Dont worry what other people think - focus on what you enjoy. Given the choice - I would pick the BMW.

Reward yourself - go for the fun car. You have plenty of time to worry about gas mileage and a back seat you won't use anyway.

Depends on if you want to show off (the coupe) or if you want something a little more practical. I would go for the BMW.
