There are a many funny people. But I make a lot of people laugh so I guess that I am a funny person. I make up my own stuff every day. I don't copy. Here is an example:

I have a friend that sends me “cards” on a regular basis including my birthday, get well when I hit the wrong nail and every holiday that is noted on the calendar.

This lady is on a very limited budget, does not get “food stamps,” and invented the word “frugal.” My best guess is that the cost of the cards, envelopes and stamps must cost more than $200 each year and that’s only for me and I’m not even close to being special.

I can’t imagine how many cards she sends each year since she has more friends than fleas on a junk yard dog. The cost must be ten times more than her propane bill!

The last card I received, like yesterday, was oversized, had a pop-out center piece and “artwork” that would be the envy of every artist in California. It had to cost well over $5.

I thought this card-sending was ridiculous and an expense that she doesn’t need. I go to her house to ask her that maybe a phone call would be a lot less expensive.

She takes me to a room that has a dozen or more file cabinets with file names of every type of card imaginable. But those cards didn’t cost her a dime.

She’s been saving cards that she receives from her numerous friends since she was in the fourth grade. I see numerous bottles of “correction fluid” (the white stuff that covers mistakes) on a table. I say nothing and quickly leave.

I go to my trash and find the “pop-out” card. I carefully scrape away her name and the white stuff to see what was concealed and then I get the bombshell: “Hi, Pumpkin. Can’t wait to see you. Love, Yugo.” Barf!

Not only did I get a recycled card, but my emotions were also recycled. I wonder if she is recycling the postage stamps too.

Believe it or not!
