I have straight, thick, soft blonde hair that is four inches below the shoulder. The curling iron makes it go limp, no matter how hot. I use hot rollers, but that just gives my hair big, poofy curls. I'd like to scrunch, but I'm not sure what it does, and my mom says it only works for wavy or curly hair. Help?

I have found with combining the right products, haircut, and scrunching techniques that you can typically scrunch in some form of natural texture. I usually recommend a moisturizing foundation product (leave-in conditioner), something for soft hold (styling/smoothing/curl creme), and low heat and speed settings on the dryer using your hands or a diffuser to gently scrunch in texture. However, if you are looking for the latest texture craze that all the celebs have been wearing... I'll give you the secret. There is a new styling tool that not only straightens but curls the hair. It's called the GHD styler - incredibly popular in the UK, now finally catching on here in the states. Check out their instructional videos on YouTube - search terms: GHD. The vidoes show both straight and curly styles. Happy styling!

first youll have to apply some product to your hair such as a gel (dont be shy with it)then you can do pin curls which are 1 inch sections of hair that you wrap around your finger apply a hair spray still wet then let dry or try a spiral perm or a candle stick perm method best if done at a salon a candle stick method is when the use regular perm rods and set them long ways instead of across good luck girl

use a curling gel like garnier fructis. When the hair is only slightly damp, spray some in your hand and scrunch it into your hair.
