if you have the base phone, you can take it out of the cradle and with you like a cell phone, and/or get a earpiece too!

I've seen phones that are bluetooth enabled, but if your phone isn't, then you'll need to buy a bluetooth adapter to allow you to use your headset at home, or at least on your home phone.
