Look, I don't want to be seen as an "America hater" or "Traitor". Its just that everything that this war is supposed to be about is out there on the surface. Almsot everyone who backs it, speaks about the moral obligation we have to fight terrorism. But there is always an underbelly. Always. Maybe we are over there to fight terrorism, but you better believe that theres a few big bonuses that made the option that much more palattable for people with their hands in our governments pockets. Does this seem like an unreasonable theory?

Obviously some corporations are making money during the war. I don't think we should intentionally lose a war to prevent profits. What are you suggesting?

Heck no, friend. The problem is that as long as everyone thinks that everyone else sitting around them, regardless of political beliefs, is an 'America' hater or something like that, the more the rich folks in power get to exercise their ideas. You ever read Smedley Butler? Mighty fine read... But, I'll tell you what, you're probably going to get a lot of flak for this question. People telling you it's already been answered... Just ignore them. No such thing as a bad question, especially not about politics.

Of course you are right. Just an example, if G.W. decided to bomb Canada, he knows that he will make money by having an INCREDIBLE war budget that makes Dick Clark Telethons look like a 1 dollar dinner hobo charity. Do you think they are not making money in some way, if they really think its a good idea to send soldiers for second and third tour of duties?? Putting privatized American corporations into Canada (just an example, don´t get your panties in a bunch now, people) make money for one place, government. Selling the Canadians American Arms makes a lot of money, and telling the world why they have to get rid of them to make the earth a safer place, also gets them money somehow. It is not a war in Iraq. It is a failed concept that they now and always knew would be a failure. It doesn´t take an MIT major to know, that bombing Iraq for what a Saudi Arabian man did, (or Yemeni; pick from the two) is NOT going to BRING peace. And whoever thinks otherwise, is just plain wrong, in my opinion. And having the right to say that opinion does not mean that I am cozying up with al-Qaeda. Knowing how to pronounce it, doesn´t mean that Osama and I are old school buddies. But to some chimps (sorry chimps) it does mean that. You just have to make up your own darn opinion, don´t let some lame brain chimp with a shiny suit manufacture the opinion for you. If you are republican listen to all issues, just as you should if you were democrat. But people don´t want to take five minutes to form their own opinion. After all, it might be the contrary to what G.W. wants them to believe. Love and Respect.

It could be that part of it is to make money for war profiteers, sure. I don't think we'll ever really know why we are there. I doubt that money is the main motivator though.
